All Aspinwall Neighbors volunteer opportunities are family-friendly unless otherwise noted, and certified volunteer hours are available for local students. Our opportunities + programs include:
Our annual volunteer clean-up of Aspinwall’s high-traffic areas and parks happens each spring! We also use that time to prepare the Alley A Rain garden for another season of spring runoff. Volunteer opportunities will be announced in 2026, as 2025’s event has ended.
Help prepare and deliver hot soup care packages to senior neighbors, and those recovering from surgery or loss to brighten their day. This program also has volunteer opportunities to bake treats and, for local kids to create handmade art and cards. This program is currently open and accepting volunteers.
Volunteers are matched to snow angel requests from neighbors who are unable to shovel due to physical ability, during the winter season. This program is currently open and accepting volunteers.
Want to help keep our streets clean all year long? Sign up to be a WALL Star, and adopt a block to keep litter-free. We’ll provide safety vests, gloves, and litter picks.
Each summer we host Aspinwall’s Big Night Out, a celebration of our community and the people, businesses, and organizations that make it unique. Volunteers help make the event possible, by spreading the word, setting up, helping out and tearing down the event. We are not currently accepting volunteers for the event, but will be in the spring.
During the winter holiday season we partner with Play It Forward Pittsburgh to collect, package and deliver toys and gifts to their annual drive that benefits local children and families, while giving toys a second life. We are not currently accepting volunteers for this program.
